Baby Penelope


Sweet little Penelope was an absolute angel for her photo session! We got some lovely family photos as well as images of baby alone to showcase her tiny features.


When choosing a newborn photographer, it's important to find someone who:

1) Is experienced in newborn safety and knows how to handle babies.

2) Is experienced with lighting, posing, and editing newborn images.


Posing newborns is harder than it looks. There's definitely a learning curve involved in learning how to work with tiny, fussy bosses.


Editing is really important too. I actually love editing and take my time doing it. There's no one "filter" or preset applied in bulk to my images; each one is carefully hand-edited with high-end retouching techniques. Here's an example of why editing is important:

Newborn skin in the first few weeks of life can be flaky, red, purplish, jaundiced, or bumpy while recovering from birth and getting used to the world outside the womb. Quality editing can make a world of difference from images straight out of the camera to a luxury heirloom art piece ready to hang in your home.
